From AP - RICHMOND, Va. -- Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick was dismissed from the team Friday, the result of numerous legal transgressions and his unsportsmanlike conduct in the Toyota Gator Bowl....
Vick, the younger brother of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, was suspended from school in 2004 for several legal problems. The junior came under new and intense scrutiny this week after replays showed he stomped on the left calf of Louisville All-American defensive end Elvis Dumervil during the Jan. 2 bowl.

From TZ (that's me)
Vick stomped on someone in a game... stomped on someone. This is the same guy who has been heaped praise all freaking season. And it pissed me off. If you remember: http://tzundell.blogspot.com/2005/11/vick-against-miami-weekend.html
Here's the kicker though - he's a junior. That means he can now enter the NFL draft. Someone will take a shot on him. No, he's not a first rounder (with his problems) but someone took a chance on Maurice Clarett, and someone will take a chance on him. Which means that regardless he will make more money in 1 year that I have in my lifetime.
But at the same point Virginia Tech did something. Virginia Tech NEVER does something... but in light of the media scrutiny they may have succumbed. Here's my theory though - Vick was going to turn pro anyway.
He was going to turn pro and Virginia Tech pretended like the big, bad institution and saved face publicly. I have zero evidence to back that up, so it's really nothing but speculation...but I wouldn't be surprised.
But it's enough for me that he is now seen in the proper light - a criminal, a vicious person. But that is Virginia Tech football - they just got caught this time and pushed a sacrificial lamb off the bridge.
