The Book of Isiah

Isiah was mad. He was mad that 'Melo' was in the game. Upset that Camby was in the game. So he did what any coach would do... he went up to Carmelo and told him he should not be in the game... oh, maybe I should make this distinction - Carmelo Anthony is a player for the Denver Nuggets. Isiah Thomas is the coach of the New York Knicks.

But Thomas couldn't resist, I guess, butting in.... trying to help out the Nuggets... drop a little 9-17 knowledge (that's the Knicks' record). And when his advice wasn't heeded - he delivered the message in another way. Knicks player Mardy Collins hard-fouled Nuggets' J.R. Smith which incited a brawl on Saturday. Isiah Thomas was a member of the Detroit Pistons' "bad boy" teams in the later 80's and apparently decided to keep that trait in his coaching career.

So Thomas, in his post-game press conference, stated that Carmelo and Camby should not have been in the game when the Nuggets has a 20 point lead. That the Knicks had "surrendered." It would seem to make sense to me, that instead of getting mad that the opposition still had their starters in, he should try a little harder to not have his team be down by 20 points. It has to be pretty easy to do, right? I mean a schlep like Larry Brown couldn't do it, but I'm sure the former player - who coached a short time in Indiana and took over the G.M. position of the Knicks a few years ago, and assembled their current squad - could certainly make them contenders right?

Face it, Isiah - the Knicks suck because you suck. You brought in decent players at overpriced salaries for long periods of time and none of them fit together as a team. Then the only good thing you have ever done - brought in Larry Brown - you quickly un-did by firing him after 1 season. You had better make the best out of the remainder of the year, because I think that not only will the Knicks fire you, but you will be hard-pressed to find another NBA job again.
